Flowing Screed

In addition to the traditional sand and cement screeds, TB can also deliver Flowing Calcium Sulphate Screeds that are Gypsum based and are pumped into position. This system can be laid to a thinner depth than the Traditional Screeds to achieve the same specification.

By reducing the depth of screed the drying times are also reduced typically 1mm per day at 20 degrees centigrade. Please review our case studies below for excellent examples of some outstanding screed work that we have recently completed.

Flowing Screeds deliver efficiencies in terms of delivery time, where a team of 4 men can lay 1000m2 in one day. Other advantages include full compaction due to its liquid form and a significant reduction in the probability of shrinkage and cracking. Flowing screeds are particularly suited to the installation of under floor components including under floor heating.

A 40mm flowing screed laid in conjunction with sound proofing matting will satisfy part E of the building regulations relating to the passage of sound between dwellings.

Where the specification requires final coverings to be laid onto the screed, selection of a compatible adhesive is essential or alternatively use of sealer beforehand. Where final coverings are required and this is not possible, TB can deliver Cement Based Flowing Screed as a viable alternative.
